Key projects
Annual Priorities 2026/27
This year, our Independent Strategic Advisory Board (ISAB) have agreed to leave a legacy through our priority projects on:
- Co-production and Public Involvement
- Dementia
With these projects, we want to find out about what barriers are faced and how they impact on people’s wellbeing and independence, foster meaningful relationships between public and the services that they use, and to help with the development of local strategies in the community.
Leaving a Legacy
In June 2025, as part of the Dash review and NHS 10 Year Plan, the UK Government proposed the abolishment of Healthwatch England and the 152 local Healthwatch in aim to simplify the patient safety landscape.
Currently, local Healthwatch have a statutory duty to:
- promote and support the involvement of the public in health and social care services
- represent the public’s views to those who commission and provide care
With plans to bring the patient voice 'in house' with ICBs and local authorities, we want to ensure that Healthwatch values are embedded within local services. That's why this year we are planning to 'leave a legacy' through our annual priorities.
