Chief Executive - Simon Fogell

Simon Fogell has been leading Healthwatch services since 2015. Prior to this, Simon worked for 25 years in local government ranging from management in children’s residential homes to Policy Manager for both children’s and adult social care. Simon led the communications and engagement for the introduction of personalisation within adult social care before becoming the Policy and Strategy Manager for the local authority. During this time, Simon was also the council lead for the DWPs 'Ageing Well' programme over several years as well as sitting on the Equality and Diversity Task Force for over ten years. He also led the Corporate Engagement team leading the council’s multiple diversity forums. Simon was also the Chief Executives Department Safeguarding Lead for both children and adults. Simon is also a Trustee for two charities covering young people and community facilities.

Sophia Leese - Digital, Information, and Signposting Officer

Sophia joined Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent in June 2021 as our Outreach, Information, and Signposting Officer. Sophia's previous working roles were within the health and social care sector, which involved providing the public with reliable information and signposting to the services relevant to their needs. They recognise the importance of high-quality healthcare services and the value of patients having positive experiences. Outside of work, Sophia enjoys home-baking, gardening, and being creative.

Tracy Cresswell - Corporate, Partnership, and Volunteering Manager

Tracy has worked for ECS since April 2016, when they delivered the Healthwatch Wolverhampton contract.  She worked as the engagement manager being promoted to the Healthwatch manager in 2018. Volunteers have always been a big part of the work that Tracy had both within her role in Healthwatch and also in her role when working in the NHS. 

In Tracy's spare time, she volunteers at an athletics club which she has done for many years, and for the last 18 months has been volunteering for a church who supports families with clothing, coats, food etc.

Jackie Owen - Projects Officer

Jackie has over 40 years’ experience of working in the Health and Social Care sector. Having qualified as a social worker in the 1970’s she worked in a number of Local Authorities and from 1993 worked for Staffordshire County Council as District Manager Adult Social Care and as Head of Older People’s services until 2009. She then joined Staffordshire LINks as Chief Officer. In 2012 She had a 3-year spell working in Supported Housing until returning to Healthwatch Staffordshire becoming manager until her retirement in January 2020.

Jackie has extensive experience of partnership working and is proud of the many collaborations with partners in Health and Housing that have led to the development of award-winning initiatives which improved the provision of joint services for Adults and Older People in Staffordshire.
