Urging residents of Stoke-on-Trent to contact their GP if they’re worried about signs of dementia

By seeking help from your GP and getting an early diagnosis can get the right support in place to live well with dementia.

The main signs of dementia include:

  • Memory problems
  • Changes in your ability to complete normal tasks
  • Changes in behaviour
  • Problems with language
  • Confusion about time or place

Residents who are concerned about these symptoms should seek help from their GP as soon as possible, as early diagnosis is key to putting into place the right support so people can still live well with dementia.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council will be launching a dementia stall within Tunstall Market on Friday 29th April. A representative from Alzheimer’s Society will be present at the stall from 11:00-12:30, to offer advice and provide information about the support available to anyone that is affected by dementia.
